WEST PARK – GET SOCKED BENEFIT – June 30, 2018

Skateboarding. I can’t imagine who or what I’d be without it. And if you’re reading this, odds are you feel the same way. The community & family that skateboarding has provided throughout my life has proved absolutely sacred to me. The friendships I’ve forged through it remain powerful, and multi generational. It really is the most legitimate family I’ve ever had. So when tragedy struck our friends Julian & Stephen (https://www.gofundme.com/judy039s-funeral @tiosteveo, and https://www.gofundme.com/ice-captured-father-of-12 @jb_805), I figured we’d do what we always do as skateboarders. Pick each other up. And that’s exactly what happened. Our skateboarding community showed up in full force, ready to give with all of it’s collective heart. In an unjust world, full of uncertainty, it’s reassuring to have a skateboarding familia that stretches out across time.  -Words by Thor (@skatehermit)
