“THERE’S BEES” – LIVING KEYS MUSIC

Many years ago, I was over at a friend of mine’s house and he was about to clean out a bucket that he kept his weed in. He was a major weed-head and always had the Chronic. There was a little left in the bottom of the bucket, and if you know anything about weed, that’s the strong stuff. All the crystals and keef that settle to the bottom. So he takes a look in the bucket and immediately summoned a few friends and myself outside. We all sat at a table in his yard and he proceeded to put a big pile of the ultra-strong trimmings and a rolling paper in front of each of us. Giggling like a bunch of little girls, we all rolled joints and started to smoke. I was a few puffs in when it hit me. Hard. Next thing I know we’re all sitting around in silence with huge perma-grins. I was probably the most stoned I’ve ever been. Couldn’t move, couldn’t talk, and the feeling seemed to be mutual. It was a beautiful sunny day and the only sound was of the bees buzzing around the bush next to us. Several minutes passed and finally SteveO (not that SteveO, the OG SB SteveO) broke the silence… “There’s bees”. Ha! We all fell out laughing. Soon after that session, I grabbed Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumblebee”, chopped it, flipped it, rubbed it down, and came away with this beat, “There’s Bees”. Inspired by one beautiful, sunny, lazy day with my friends. Living Keys Music is produced and performed by Erik Hatch and friends. To hear more go to https://livingkeysmusic.bandcamp.com
